Understanding Independent Living Homes:
Understanding Independent Living Homes:Independent living homes are tailored for self-sufficient adults aged 25 and above, seeking a community living environment without the need for major healthcare assistance. Individuals of independent living homes are capable of managing daily activities without significant support, distinguishing them from those in assisted living facilities. Unlike assisted living facilities, independent living homes do not offer extensive healthcare services or assistance with daily activities. The goal of independent living homes is to provide a supportive environment and a range of amenities for adults aged 25 and above who prioritize independence but may occasionally require some level of assistance. This setup allows individuals to enjoy the perks of community living while preserving their autonomy.

Higher Quality of life
As our tenants move from living with family and friends or transitioning from homelessness, we are committed to providing them with the necessary support and resources to help them through this important transition. There are some myths about independent living homes that need to be addressed.Myth #1: You don't have to worry about boredom in an independent living home. Far from being boring, independent living homes are designed to foster a sense of camaraderie and connection, helping individuals build friendships and stay engaged.Myth #2: Independent living is expensive. Another common myth is that independent living homes are not an option because they are too expensive compared to retiring at home. Independent living costs will vary depending on the location, services, and amenities. However, independent living is more affordable than most people think. Once you compare all the expenses of living at home, such as mortgage, property taxes, maintenance, repairs, homeowners' insurance, security, transportation, food, and utilities, moving to an independent living home can be comparable or even less. You should also consider the convenience and value of having activities, services, and amenities in one place.
Do independent living homes offer medical care?
Medical services available in independent living homes may vary by location. Generally, these homes do not provide onsite medical care, as they cater to individuals who are self-reliant. Nevertheless, many independent living homes facilitate third-party healthcare providers who offer in-home visits. These providers offer a range of services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and chiropractic care, ensuring that individuals can access necessary care without leaving the comfort of their homes.
